NEEDLEMAT

Needlemat is manufactured by needle punching a continuous web of stainless steel wool. This needling process compresses the pad and intertwines the stainless steel fibers through the pad for extra strength and density. This needlemat can be wrapped around a tube or placed in other areas of the muffler to displace heat and attenuate the sound. While rectangular shapes are most common, die-cut shapes can also be accommodated to fit a specific geometry, such as a baffle plate.

COMBI-TUBES®

Combi-Tubes® are custom designed to easily slide over your perforated or louvered tube. With wire reinforcement along the inside diameter to hold its shape, especially for larger tubes, Combi-Tubes® are designed for ease in handling in manufacturing. The acoustical absorption and the high temperature resistance of the 434 stainless steel wool make the Combi-Tube® an ideal product for exhaust systems.

SLEEVES

Sleeves offer the same properties as Combi-Tubes® but without the wire reinforcement. Using this option in combination with fibrous absorption material inside the muffler or resonator chamber may prolong the thermal durability of the absorption material.

DIRECT WIND

Directly winding stainless steel wool onto a perforated, louvered or even slotted tube utilizes the same manufacturing technology as making Combi-Tube® Sleeves. The direct-wound stainless steel wool will stay firmly in place, even under intense gas pressure in the muffler. Choosing this product option enables you to speed up your assembly process and reduce your component inventory.

MOLDED TUBE

Molded tubes are glass mat materials molded into tubular shapes using an inorganic binder. The inorganic binder provides no smoke or odor, unlike other molded absorption packs where organic binders are used.

Tubes can be manufactured in various diameters, thicknesses, lengths and densities to meet exacting specifications. This provides custom-shaped sound absorbing components for easy assembly over perforated or louvered tubes in resonator/muffler assemblies.

DIRECT WIND

Glass mat can be directly wound onto perforated or louvered tubes creating a muffler component to simplify overall muffler assembly. It can be provided to specific outside diameters, lengths and densities.

DIE CUT MAT

Glass needlemat materials can be supplied as cut shapes in various thicknesses and densities.

DIRECT WIND E-CR GLASS

E-CR glass is an excellent option for high-temperature glass-only designs. This Boron-free high temperature glass filament can be a very viable alternative to traditional automotive exhaust market-driven materials characterized by comparable thermal and acoustic properties common for 24-micron roving. Typical applications are for automotive and industrial resonators and mufflers.

E-CR BAGS

Loose, texturized E-CR glass roving without any resin contained within a perforated bag of a predetermined geometry, thickness and chemical composition, such as PE or PP.
